we make silly assumptions when we're young;;

When I was little...
  • I wanted to marry Cole Sprouse
  • I thought I'd be able to drive a Ferrari
  • I wanted to pitch for the Dodgers
  • I was the queen of the tether ball court
  • I took the swings for granted
  • I had no stage fright
  • I wasn't afraid of spiders, disease, or war
  • I thought romcoms were lame
  • I thought Green Day was the greatest band ever
  • I couldn't handle my 12s time tables
  • I lived in a blue house with my mommy and daddy and brothers and nanny
  • I didn't feel so sad about the things that depress me now
  • I thought the piano was the coolest instrument ever
  • I got confused between Goth and Emo
  • I thought Brownies (like the Girl Scouts) made brownies out of mud
  • I wanted to be a skateboarder
  • I wanted to be a snowboarder
  • I wanted to be a surfer
  • I made up songs on the spot
  • I watched Annie everyday
  • I could hang out with a boy without anyone assuming we were "going out"
  • I could cry on my mom's shoulder whenever I got pushed around
  • I had never experienced heartbreak or rejection
  • I wasn't short, I was normal height
  • I was the biggest tomboy you could meet
  • I was obsessed with soccer
  • I could give anyone I wanted a valentine card and not think twice about it
  • I wanted to be a power ranger -slash- ninja
  • I was mildly allergic to macadamia nuts
  • I took two dance classes every Thursday
  • I took Spirit Days at school seriously
  • I wore high-tops and flare jeans
  • I would sing A*Teens and Dream Street music during recess
  • I took recess for granted, too
  • I made friends a lot more easily
  • I didn't care about how I looked
  • I was a lot happier

Maybe Peter Pan had a point. It's better not to grow up, after all.
