Shakespeare has a dirty mind.

When you read about Romeo & Juliet as a kid, you just think of the lovely Shakespearean language.

When you get into high school, you realize it's all sexual innuendo.

Today, I had to read from the part of Sampson. He kept talking to his friend Gregory (both of the house of Capulet) about what he'd do to the Montagues: first, he kill the men. Then, he'd either cut off the women's heads or, um, rape them.

My friend Avery was Gregory, and the two of us were cracking up the whole time. It's kinda awkward, but there's only 9 of us in the class, so we're all used to each other.

Shakespeare wrote in such a language (thou; art; thy; thine; blablablaaaa) to hide the perverted jokes in the context. That way, the poor people would laugh at them freely after understanding while the rich women could say, "They're talking about the sword," since they weren't allowed to laugh at such jokes or they'd be called hussies.

Women actors (actresses?) were called hussies too.

Pobre.
